I am interested to start US based VOIP Termination business. My destinations will be chiefly South Asia and Middle East. I got substantive traffic demands in hand from various friends (running VOIP business outside USA) who are interested in using my US based Termination facility. I am now ready to install Quintum equipment and T1 lines. My billing software is also available.
I am in NJ. What do I do next? Can someone please help me in understanding the next steps after I have my Termination Equipment and lines ready? This is because, one of my partner gave me a strange info today. He said that we have to spend about 3 cents/min (1 + 2) for call terminations, because our calls will finally be routed through LA. Doesn't it sound idiotic? Because the target rates for USA is around 1 cent. How does it work than? Please help!! |

Personally, I think your friend is fooling you or he does not understand Voip. I run a company as well, in the Netherlands, that is. If you have everything ready, meaning Equipmet, bandwidth, the next thing to do is to find a party that is willing to terminate the incoming traffic at your requirements. When you have choosen the ONE, ore more in case of redundancy, you do some tests with them, in order to find out, the ASR, PDD, ACD and all the stuff. Now you are all set, one might think. Where is your traffic coming from, 1-800 toll free Calling cards, from other carriers, SME with small GW(2-8 lines), Voip carriers???? all these need different approach! Warning: Please be aware of crooks!!!!!!!!!!! I know a few.
