    I am experienced in the sales, procurement, account management and business development of many different voice products and services in the telecommunications industry. Familiar with the latest technological advancements in telecommunications, including Voice over IP, satellite technologies, convergent communications solutions and hosted applications.
    Capable of making a positive contribution to a company very quickly I have put into practise many of my own business cases and models, purchasing strategies, sales and marketing plans, from the ground up on voice products. Accomplished in many disciplines including finding new products, clients, managing multi-million dollar accounts, closing deals from single products to turnkey voice projects.

    Career History

    October 2004- Present Freelance Interconnect Consultant
    · Source and negotiate voice interconnections for some of the fastest going Carriers and Operators in Europe and US including Liquid Telecom, Planet VoIP and Digital Mail.
    · Reduced Geographic and Non Geographic voice ingress costs in the UK for a growing unified messaging company, Digital Mail.
    · Reduced egress costs and provided business opportunities for Voice Over IP clients, on many routes, including, Nigeria Mobile, Mali, Kenya, Tanzania, Chad, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, India, Turkey, Syria, and UK Mobile.

    January 2002 to October 2004 Tele2 UK/Alpha International Overseas Telecommunications Services Limited, Richmond and Madeira
    Carrier Relations Manager:
    · Reporting to the MD AIOTSL, Madeira, I had the responsibility for managing an annual carrier budget of up to £60million.
    · Negotiation of least cost routing for voice Carriers and Direct connections including India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iraq, Nigeria, South Africa and Pakistan.
    · The search and selection of ingress and egress voice solutions from established and new Carriers on to the Company’s Nortel GSP, Digitalk voice platforms in London and other Points of Presence around Europe and the USA. Using TDM, VoIP and latest satellite technology.
    · Assisted in negotiating and securing bilateral and swap deals for Tele2, our parent company.
    · Responsible for developing the Carrier strategy for AIOTSL under new UK tax laws that govern the sale of pre-paid vouchers that ensured the continued profitability of Alpha’s voice telephony products.
    · Consistently achieved the reduction of Carrier costs by up to £.5 million per month under budget. Saving the company over £5 million in year 2002/03 and improvement in quality the companies strategic voice routes.
    · Introduction of a voice wholesale product to resell Alpha Telecom’s direct capacity.
    · Recovered over £1.5 Million in Carrier Deposits, LOC’s and claims for AIOTSL.
    Position made redundant by Tele2.

    February 2000- October 2001 ECET UK Ltd, London
    Sales and Business Development Manager
    · ECET UK Ltd is an independent software vendor that designs and builds IP based voice, video and data convergent communications solutions for large enterprise and corporate market place.
    · From start-up I have established a working client portfolio at high level of over 30 leading telecoms companies in the industries listed above in the region including C and W, NTL, Interoute, Global Crossing, GTS, Energis Squared, Worldcom, KPNQwest and Colt. Also direct and highly creative input to the partner strategy with OEM's and Systems Integrators such as Cisco, Accenture, KPMG and Cap Gemini Ernst and Young
    · I have built and presented many business and financial models including introduction of convergent communications solutions into CRM, Supply Chain Management and Knowledge Management, Human Resource Efficiency and eBusiness service
    Lack of Venture Capital funds and scaleable product has put the company into Liquidation.

    March '99- January 2000 World Telecom PLC, London
    Head of Carrier Relations
    · Interconnected International telecoms suppliers ensuring to provide cost-effective solutions to support WT's range of products including Global Calling Cards, Pre-paid Cards, Indirect and Direct Discount Long Distance Telephony.
    · Responsible for negotiating carrier rates and the verification of carrier bills and invoices.
    · Having switches and offices in Spain, Italy, USA and UK WT is interconnected with carriers such as AT and T, BT C and W, Carrier One, Colt, Global One, Facilicom, Storm, Teleglobe, Uni2, Viatel and Worldcom.
    · Continually reduced WT's monthly switching costs by up to 4% per month through negotiation, network rollout, selection of new carriers and introduction of new technology including IP telephony.
    Headhunted to join a Pre-IPO company.


    March '98- March ‘99 Facilicom International Ltd, London

    · Account management of various existing clients interconnected with FCI such as Esat, ABS Telecom, ITS, Primus, Global Dialog, Pacific Gateway Exchange, World Xchange and Star. Achieving and exceeding targets set.
    · Signing up of newly found clients such as Carrier One, Highpoint Telecom, American Telemedia, Axxon, Net Communications (Italy), Energis, London Digital, International Telecom and a5comms.
    Left to pursue a career in a growing value added product environment.

    February ‘96- January '98 Equicom Limited, Southampton (Telecommunications systems integrators and consultancy)

    · Secured contracts and managed the accounts for the supply of Mini-M satellite phones, Inmarsat call traffic handling, Land Earth Stations and consultancy with many companies Worldwide including Hutchison Whampoa, ABB Randall, Ausdrill, BHM International, UNDP and Commonwealth Development Corporation to the value of $3 Million.
    · Developed and implemented sales and marketing plans for the company and its clients for such products as satellite communications, wireless and cellular communications (GSM and AMPS), international call back reselling and pre-paid calling card distribution (Global Dialog).
    Company closed and joined large London based Carrier with an increase in salary and prospects.

    International Sales Representative 3 years
    · Managed Multi-Million Dollar sales accounts for the continuing supply of telecommunications products including card payphones, hybrid systems, rural telephony solutions and domestic/office telephones. Clients include Siemens Worldwide, Namibia Telecom, Teletswana, Lesotho Telecom, Swaziland Post and Telecommunications Corporation and GPT to the value of over $20 Million per annum.
    Returned back to the UK.

    Nov. 89-Dec. 91 Telephone Manufacturers of South Africa Continued
    Senior Engineer 2 years
    · Responsible for the internal and external QA Audit functions. Developed and implemented QA Audit programmes for all 19 departments of the company employing approximately 2000 people and its major supplies throughout the world.
    · Developed and ensured the implementation of Quality Management Systems to the requirements of the British Approval Board of Telecommunications and ISO 9001 for Telephone Manufacturers and South African Moulded Plastics Limited.
    Project completed, left to pursue a career in sales
