I had to check first what is required in a fast brainstorm session with my collegues:
Billing Platform
Protocol Support
Multiple Currency
IVR
Routing and Termination
Origination
Cost evaluation
Elaboration of a sales Rates
Distribution
charges

This is what we got so far during our brainstorm but stablishing our parameters is the first step into a good business analisis prior saying if this is profitable or not, let's evaluate these calculations:

Billing Platform: Voicemaster $10,000
Protocol Support: H323 and SIP
Multiple Currency: We should be able to support multiple currency billing if we are going to deploy origination gateways in multiple countries and also if our gateways will be placed all over the world.
IVR: Also we should be able to play IVR in diferent languages once these gateways will be deployed in diferent countries
Routing and Termination: our termination or A-Z providers are 3, 2 of them VOIP and 1 is TDM so we have to take this into consideration also at the moment that we select the equipment that we will use for origination, also the gatekeeper that will route our calls should be completely interconnected to the origination gateway and the ivr platform they should share the same database.
Origination: We are going to use 1-800 numbers in each one of the Countries where we deploy equipment over TDM and also we will receive IP forwarded 1-800 due to the low cost aprox 0.0175 per minute versus 0.025 of the TDM origination in the US and Europe.
Cost evaluation: Now that we have this items we shall do a little math and grouping:

US (1x5350 with 4xT1) $12,000
US (1xSM7000 with 1xT1) $6,500

Termination Cost but we need some data to make it efective so we did this:
Initially we will serve comunities using a tecnique named ethnic marketing and using information of the existence of immigrants in each one of these major cities



Capacity Calculation
4xT1 = 96 Channels
Operative window 8 hours on standard prepaid callingcard scenario
Daily volume = 46,000 minutes
Monthly volume = 1,380,000 minutes

Cisco gateway is capable of playing up to 2 languages and is solid as rock on performace but it will not perform on IP to IP in the case that we receive the 1-800 over IP so we got the SM7000 from Sysmaster and we receive the forwarded 1-800 on that equipment and reforward it to the gatekeeper for distribution to the LCR A-Z, we decided to begin with the operation in US and colocated at the NAP of the Americas in Miami, where the cost of a complete rack 19" including power and internet is around $1,000 a month.

May help some people to get to they're own numbers, the figures pretty much stick together with this spreadsheet, we are finishing our 5th month and begining the 6th month but we are 20% behing on income, however the idea of ethnic targeting works perfect.

Do you offer international VoIP termination service? If so, can you please find out for me the per minute termination fee for an international call placed from USA to Yemen Republic (both land and Mobil)? Also, are there any monthly charges?

Expected traffic over 100,000 min/ month at the start. There is a potential of growth in the near future.
