By having hosted NexTone solution, service providers have the complete capabilities that NexTone has to offer without any limitation. Partitions are provisioned, created, tested and delivered with in a week from receiving an order.

Cosmics Hosted Softswitch Capabilities:

Hosted Softswitch is divided into three parts:

Telephony Services Platform (MSx)

Reporting & Control Services Platform (RMS / iVMS)

On line Billing platform (PortaBilling for NexTone).

The following is a brief explanation of each module provided in the hosted NexTone solution:

Telephony Platform:

• Public IP Addresses: Service provider will be assigned two public IP addresses from Cosmics, these IP addresses are dedicated to the service providers NexTone environment (Partition). IP addresses are assigned for Signalling & Media dedicated to the environment.



• The Platform supports the following protocols: SIP, H.323 & SIP-T. Interworking between these protocols are fully supported.

• Support for: G.711ALaw, G.711ULaw, G.729, G.729a, G.729b & G.723. Codec Negotiation

• Transcoding.

• No restriction on Ingress or Egress traffic. Service providers are charged per blocks of 30 simultaneous calls. No restrictions on number of minutes terminated per E1 (30 Voice Channels)

• No restriction on number of end points. Service providers can create multiple endpoints and complex routing pattern in their NexTone environment and only pay for the minimum amount number of voice channels.

• Media Routing, Topology Hiding, VoIP Firewall, Mirror Proxy setups for registration through nextone in order to resolve NAT issues.


• Partition is fully programmed and Tested by Cosmics engineers and when delivered to the customers, the platform is ready for operation.

Reporting & Control Platform:

Reporting & Control Services Platform allows the service providers to access their switch on the web and create their endpoints, calling plans, LCR, generate engineering reports, business and profit reports. The following explains some of the features:.

This option allows the service providers to monitor the performance of their switch partition and end points (routes). The reports which are available are list in the following:

o Business Reports:

Service Providers can create various business reports using this power feature. This report takes the information from the engineering data and LCR table and creates reports on Region, Customers, Suppliers, Origination and Termination trunks.



o Profit Reports:

The Profit reports are available for creating specific report based on the buying and selling of the minutes on the switch.

o Customise Report:

This powerful tool allows the service providers to create and design their own customised report and export that in .xls format.





• Alarms:

CDR / Log alarms are triggered based on the traffic patterns detected from the CDRs generated on an MSx. CDR alarms can be viewed, enabled/disabled, added, updated, and deleted via the CDR Alarms menu option. The CDR Alarms page provides, line-by-line, a listing of current alarms with the following information:
• the status of the alarm, either Enabled or Disabled
• the name assigned to the alarm (clicking on the name also takes you to an update screen in which the parameters of the alarm can be edited.
• the host or device that sends the CDRs to iVMS
• a description of the alarm
• the action to be performed when the conditions for the CDR alarm are met



• LCR:

The Least Cost Routing (LCR) reports show the priority in which calls are routed to carrier partners. The LCR functionality includes an easy to use report that displays the routes prioritised by the order of least cost. iServer Routes generation is a function that exports the iVMS rating table into an XML database which is then imported automatically into the NexTone iServer.
This feature provides the following:
• LCR and MPR Reports
• One-click update of iServer with LCR generated routes
• Supports sticky routes
• Manual override of LCR generated routes
• Download XML database of LCR routes
• ANI number manipulation
• DNIS number manipulation
• Outgoing Tech prefix

The Most Profit Routing (MPR) reports help you track which traffic routes generate the highest revenues.


• System:

Service Providers can create various users with distinct privileges to access their partition.


IP Network:

Cosmics managed IP network is part of Europe’s largest MPLS and dark fiber network. There are multiple Cisco Edge Networks with interconnects with multiple IP Bandwidth providers for full IP / Bandwidth redundancy. Cosmics runs full MPLS routing table on their Edge routers.














On Line Billing:

Cosmics Hosted Softswitch solution provides a complete on line billing platform which allows service providers to have access to their CDRs and billing details for both vendors and customers.

The main features of the billing platform are highlighted below:

• CDR update every 10 minutes.
• Billing for both SIP and H.323 trunks
• Customisable interface for customer access to real time billing platform.
• Automated invoice.
• Push invoice as pdf to customer e-mails.
